Yesterday a mindee nearly 3 yrs drew a circle ( almost) and put in two marks for eyes then a nose. He said 'now I need a big smiley mouth'. This is the first time he has ever drawn a face or anything recognisable. I'm not sure which area of Eyfs that it links to.
Any ideas appreciated

Would definitely come under marks with meaning (CD), self awareness (PSED), using one handed tools (PD), language for thinking (CLL). Not sure about specific ages and stages though as that was off the top of my head, so may need to look about within those sections. HTH
