Does anyone else have under 5s term time only? Ive got a mum coming to see me about her 3 year old term time only. Do you charge a retainer for the holidays or not?

I charge a half fee retainer for the holidays. Others dont , and fill the spaces with holiday only mindees , but there are such cheap holiday clubs here that we dont tend to get holiday only care. So whatever works for your area really!

I charge a nominal retainer in the holidays but then I do have holiday only mindees to make up the difference.

If it's a term time only contract I charge full fee for any absence in term time so I don't lose out on my money then.

Chat to a few other minders in your area if you know them so you get a feel for what the competition does. It also depends whether you can afford a big drop in income over the holidays.

I have 3 who are t-time only. I like this, as means I have less children in the holidays:) I don't charge a retainer.

I agree it all depends on what is suitable for you. I would charge half retainer fee for over the holidays.

Good luck

I have TTO under 5's and charge a higher hrly rate depending on contracted hrs. No retainer charged for holidays. I would love it if I had all TTO as it would make life easier for me.
