Hi i have a 3yr old starting in a few weeks and a 6 yr old on school hols and in service days only.

Do you charge to keep the 6 yr old space for holidays only?:confused:

Personally I charge for the hours they book for the hols as I have children 'term time only' and this compensates.

Do you have a drop in numbers during the holidays? If not and it takes a possible all year round space up, I would say to the parents that you have 2 options;
1) They agree that if an all year round placement comes up you will have to take them on and she will need to find another cm,

2) she can pay a 50% retainer so you keep the place for their child.

At least then she gets the option.

Don't know if this will help or not...just an idea :D

I wouldnt charge term-time retainer for holidya only child. What I would do is ask for fees upfront at least a month before the holiday cover is due (same as a deposit) to hold the place.
