I have an early scan tomorrow

I went for hormone level blood tests on friday and it came back as 5000mcg and today went for test again to compare and to make sure they hadn't decreased and my hormones have risen to 14000mcg!!!!!!!!!!! Now i know its all good for them to rise but on average they should rise by 60% and mine have risen alot more than that. She told me nothing to worry about and go for a scan tomorrow because we should be able to see something with hormones been so high. Has anyone got any experience or knowledge of all this because i have also read that high hormones = possibilty of twins!!! :eek: :)

When I was pregnant with my second, i went to the doctors and they did a blood test, and cant remember why now, but they did another a couple of days later and found out my hormones had risen by some huge percentage and i had an emergency phonecall at 6pm to say stop what you are doing and go straight to maternity it was an emergency! I was not even allowed to eat my dinner, they apparently thought the pregnancy was ectopic.

I had a couple of blood tests over a couple of days at the hospital as they couldnt find anything on the scan but I was pregnant, I then had to endure a week of waiting until they did another blood test and scan, and the news was I was pregnant with a girl, cos apparently a lot of mistaken ectopics are actually successful pregnancies with girls, as the hormones rise even faster than would happen in an ectopic, something they said they found out as a result of doctors sending people like me to the hospital!

i am etremely nervous this morning and not got any children here to take my mind of things (got the day off). I just hope they do see something and all is fine because if they dont and i have to go back then i dont know how i will cope not worrying. I just hope everything is ok.

All gone well. Had to have the internal one to see if they could see anymore than what they could on the normal scan and they can see the ONE sac and yolk forming perfectly but they think im more like 5 weeks rather than 5 week 5 days with my cycle's been more like 30-32 day cycle which would explain what they saw on the scan. I have another one in two weeks time which then we should see more and hear the heartbeat.

Arrr bless you. Yes all fine and sickness is in full whack!! Oh and tiredness! I asked the nusrse yesterday is it normal to be so sick and so tired so early on and she said ''with hormones like yours-yes!!!'' :laughing:

ooooo both girls. I have read that very sicky etc is a sign of a girl but suppose should take those theorys with a pinch of salt. My gut feeling is a girl though even though my hubby would love a boy - like all men would !! Were not bothered because this little baby will bring us both lots of happiness!!!
Dont worry, i am resting. My feet are up now whilst mindee is sleeping!! Just writing out my never ending to do list that keeps getting bigger and bigger because all i want to do at then end of the working day is SLEEP!!! :)
