Does anyone work with three or more peple (totalling four or more) and are classed as childcare on Domestic premises. I currently work with two others and are thinking of changing registration but can't get straight answers from ofsted. How do they work out floor space per child, is it as set out in guidelines, but then rooms may not be split, or do we need to split children then? Also what ratio do we then work to? Is it still one to three? I am confused.

Any help and general advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I seem to remember someone out there who does this... I'll keep thinking.

Meanwhile I'll bump up your post :D

Watch your rates - might be worth checking with the council as planning permission will probably be asked for

Already thought about that one Debbie, not checked it out properly yet, just an idea at moment. Just trying to get my head round Ofsted guidelines before I check it out with council.

Thanks

Wouldn't the child/space ratio be the same as if you were working on your own in domestic premises? For a childminder on their own it is detailed on the main website:
