I am busy getting everything ready for my pre-reg visit and have found I've had to spend quite a bit on stuff....glass safety film, first aid kit, padlocks etc... Am I able to put these "set-up costs" down when I do my tax return. I should be registered by Sept / Oct so just need to see if I can include money I've spent before I declare that I am self employed?

Thanks - thought I could but needed to double check! We have had gates fitted at home to make our driveway / garden completely enclosed and secure they cost £600 in total, what percentage of those can I put down if any?? We have only had them put up due to me setting up as a childminder.

Id put the full cost through , as you probally wouldnt have done this if you hadnt gone into childminding :)
