I had a quick look at ****** when the email came through this morning. I was disappointed that it is mainly England resources. It is an ideal opportunity to be learning more about other countries.

Yes, I must say that it was quite disappointing, but there is a South African flag there.... I am trying to find somewhere with different countries flags to colour so if anyone knows anywhere please post. :)

Well, we were kicking it off  with a visit to Bramall Lane FC but they are not doing tours next week. :( So need to find somewhere else quick. We are then designing t-shirts on paper cut outs and then transfering the designs on to cheap white t-shirts, (CD, PSRN, CLL) we are baking cupcakes and decorating with england flag, (CD, PSRN, CLL) Colouring flags of the World and making into a display of the countries, (CD, KUW, PSED, CLL) We are charting the countries on our world map and learning a little bit about each country and how to say hello in each of the languages, (KUW, CLL, PSED) holding our own mini world cup football matches, (PD, PSED, CLL) etc. I am sure I will add lots more to it as we go along. Buddy, our travelling teddy has his own world cup kit too. :D

Same here but it is a good excuse to look at other countries/diversity. My children are at the table at the moment decorating various flags. They say between them they will do a flag for every country but I expect they'll change their mind before they do them all!

I was looking at activity village this afternoon and came across the super trumps game for all the participating countries. Each card has the countries flag, population, av age, av life expectancy, size.
this is going to be perfect for tomorrow as it's inset day here and the 8 year old I'm having for the day is always playing with his Pokemon trump cards and he likes football too. Fingers crossed this lives up to my expectations.
