My house is quite old and in the kitchen and play room there are pipes going to the radiators, will i have to box these in or would it be just as good to get some foam pipe insulation to cover them? The children would be able to touch them but the insulation would mean they can't get burned.

my house is old too and I have pipes to the radiators. They did get quite hot and I plan to use foam pipe insulation to cover the lower level pipes and take it off when not working if necessary.
This was our first year in the house so I wasn't sure how they would be, no mindees even touched the pipes (I didn't cover them) but you never know.
Hope the insualtion is ok then for next winter :)

They will be fine with pipe insulation on dont matter what u use aslong as its safe.
