Do I HAVE to attend a child protection course? When I sat my ICP it was RECOMMENDED but I was not told that I had to definately do the course. I am now concerned that I haven't done one yet and have even heard someone say that you HAVE to do it every three years. Is this correct?????

I have to do it for my network.

I think it depends where you live.

As far as Ofsted are concerned it's good practice but not statutory so they can give it as an improvement if they wish.

I did an update course online :D

I had it as an action on my inspection, all done now and we were advised on the course to update every 3 years, in our area it was free, so worth doing
