You may remember me saying a few weeks back about my 10 yr old DD Darcey having trials with Charlton Girls football team.
Well they have decided to sign her so she is now a Charlton player!!!:clapping: :clapping:
Am so proud and so pleased for her as she eats, breathes and sleeps football!!!:laughing:
We went to Oxford for her Away game today and she played really well.
Ooh I am so happy - can you tell???:D

What a wonderful achievement, this would be the dream for my dd, well Watford girls anyway, she was scouted for the trials but we decided to give her a while longer with her local team as it was the start of her first season playing and she is only young.
Well done Darcey, enjoy every minute!

Thank you everyone for your congratulations - I am one very proud mummy and I have one very pleased girl!!!
She is going to play her last game tomorrow for her Sunday league team (all boys:D ) and say her farewells. It will be sad in a way as she has played for them for 2 yrs. But after next season she cannot play on the boys team anyway (football still needs dragging into the 21st century in some respects!) and Charlton has such better facilities and opportunities.

my DD#1 played for Port vale and then Tranmere Rovers years ago.....then she had to retire aged 17 due to knee problems...she was in line to play for England:(
never mind eh?
Oh well done to your daughter - that's fantastic :clapping:
My 12 year old dd loves her football on a Saturday as well. Interestingly, her twin brother has just packed in playing on a Sunday as he seems to have lost interest in it - she absolutely loves it.
Keep us updated as to how she gets on.
