Just heard on sky news that the government are trying to bring in SDST or something like that

And they said in winter clocks would go forward again an hour??

Just read this up on a google search, all makes perfect sense, except kids still have to get up for school in the morning, so going to bed later to enjoy the longer evenings is not an option!

It says about pensioners being afraid of being out in the dark, well the majority dont work so arent constricted by a normal day, so go out earlier and would still be tired and want to go home scared of the drunks and others that are loitering around to cause trouble later at night still!

And a lot of people now do not work a conventional day anyway, we all get up at differing times, but they reckon it will save energy bills as we would have the light on less.

I am tired losing an hour out of the precious weekend, let alone the effects of losing two!

Yes I read this a few weeks ago

Even talk about doing a 3 year trial - imagine that we could get used to it then they say it dont work so we could be back to square one again

Imagine it getting dark at 11pm the kids would never go to sleep ha ha

The clocks changing this time has done me a favour the children actually slept in until 8am this morning :clapping: I don't mind as long as they keep one continuous time and stop all this silly changing around

Did it not already have a trial in the 60s or 70s though and it obviously didn't work too well or we'd still be doing it?

No, I think in the early 70's they tried not changing the clocks at all (I hate to say I do remember  ) and it didn't work, can't remember why though.

Can't see that happening, what about the people up north who won't have sunrise until 10am! That doesn't make any sense at all! Do people only care about us southerners being safer and healthier?

I would be so depressed if I didn't get daylight until mid-morning! Bonkers! (That's my new word at the moment, bonkers!!)

They were also talking about only doing it in Southern Britain, imagine some of you could be in a completely different time zone to us!

One hour is bad enough, DH went off to milk the cows on Sunday morning and as usual when the clocks change, the cows gave him a look as if to say 'what time do you call this?!'

How can that be right?

Now that's just plain silly!!! If it's supposed to attract tourism and increase the economy how will it help if Scotland have a different time zone?!

I hate getting out of bed in the dark and I like it dark in the evenings to cosy on down. Why is it that everything these days is all down to economy:panic:
