Thought what with everyone doing topics about Spring it would be a good idea if we all put our ideas together so they are all in one place

Do any of you have anything to share ?

What about making lambs with the children?

You will need:

Paper
Glue
Cotton wool
Collage materials
Googly eyes

Activity:

Give each child a piece of paper and a selection of collage materials to choose from. They can glue the cotton wool or other collage materials onto the paper to make a lamb. Once this is finished the children can glue on some googly eyes, and leave their pictures to dry, before displaying the lambs as part of a spring display

If completing this activity with young children you may wish to only use cotton wool or offer a more limited range of collage materials. However older children can be encouraged to source their own collage materials and cut them to size themselves to suit their own needs.

Areas of learning covered:

Knowledge and understanding of the world
Creative development
Physical development

I thought we might go out and collrct a load of twigs, sticks etc and have a go at making nests like the birds. Haven't finalised my planning yet - doing it over the weekend:rolleyes:

Good idea we might do that

The kids also want to make some nests using shredded wheat and chocolate so should be fun

We went to the country park and saw lots of busy frogs! I expect there will be lots of frog spawn in the pond soon. ;)

We've been singing 5 green speckled frogs using a teaching mitt and practising counting (my mindee has very little verbal communication).

I need to find the links but we are going to do some frog crafts - cutting out the body parts and sticking these together in the correct place.

I've not got much further than that as I'm off for two weeks soon. :p I only have one mindee three hours a day at the moment!

As a group we are going to do a Weather Chart for the next couple of weeks.

This week we will make pictures of different sorts of weather to make the chart. Down the side of the chart will be the days of the week.

Next week we will work together to decide what the weather is that day and fill this in as a tick on the chart.

This will help show how many different sorts of weather can occur in spring!! (hopefully)

I have one LO this week for one day and my older DS and I have decided if the weather is good on LO's day we are going to see the lambs. We will then come home and make Angels Lamb pics. I am not so good with drawing, does anyone know of a lamp pic we can use to stick the cotton wool onto

I have been getting some great resources from the TES website, I have printed games, flash cards, also I have borrowed resources from the Library and local childminder friends. We have also been on a visit to RHS gardens, looking at the flowers and what animals we may see on or around the pond.
