This could be a daft question but here goes...

Can I do weekly planning more than a week in advance? I am not thinking months I was thinking 2-4 weeks?

You can have an overview idea of what you want to plan...

So I know that this week we are thinking about growing and focussing on Jack and the Beanstalk...

Next week we will be doing Easter cards, gifts, egg decorating etc...

The week after we will think about spring and spring animals...

So I have some activities in the back of my mind / on a planning sheet from last year for those.

That's where I stop until I know what the children's interests are. Then I plan for the individual child.

Hth :D

You can but if you try and plan too far in advance it may end up wasted as the children's interests may take things in a completely different direction.

I have loose plans for the month. I note down ideas of things that I might do, things I've noted from obs, events coming up etc.

For each week I take some of the monthly ideas, some things from obs, some things that are included because of a child's particular interests etc.
