....... has been stopped by West Sussex County Council. How ludicrous is that. I'm appalled. My 3 years is nearly up so need to book myself on another course and they are not cheap.
For a course that is an absolute nessessity - how on earth can they justify this.

I hope Surrey dont follow suit. That is really bad, i thought the whole country got some sort of bursary.

I think you should have a word with your local MP and see what he can do .:)

How annoying. Yeah, try talking to your council or local MP. Something so essential should be funded, particularly when the government is supposed to be so hot on supporting child care and education!

I found this out a few weeks ago when i got reported I am now on a course but as it is the CIS's fault i have not been booked on one sooner they have offered to reimburse me. A few minders i know are not happy at all as it is compulsary and alot of money

Ours stopped funding from September 2009. Thankfully done mine in the January and hopefully by the time its due again they would have changed their minds and be funding them again!! I can live in hope.

I am also from West Sussex and noticed this in the letter we had a while back. Luckily I did mine this year, so at least have a bit of leeway. I wonder what other courses will be available when we get next terms list through, bet its not many

There is no funding at all in Havering:(

Have just paid £124 for my first aid course, no grants or assitance available for anything here .... it's costing me a fortune and I am still only pre-reg.

Good job I am really desperate to begin minding..lol
