I need to try and find a decent car seat birth plus - 4 years but want it to be safe but cheap, any suggestions?

Ive just bought two from argos in the sale, dont know if its still on but they go from 9 months - 11 years. good value at £29.99 each:)

Hiya.I brought 2 yesterday.One from the age birth - 1 year & that was only £20 that was from a shop near me that sells 2nd hand baby & child stuff.I also got a baby bouncer aswell for £5 :) Both in great condition.I got another one from ebay from age birth - 4 years & that was only £30 :)

Ebay are fab for things like that. I bought a car seat off it for £30 brand new. The same seat was £70 in Mothercare.:D

what do people think about used car seats?

even if they say it hasn't been in accident, do u believe or not?

I personaly wouldn't buy a second hand childs car seat, however, argos do from 9mths-11yrs for 34.99 and 49.99 same age group for one that can be used in the front pass seat. I have a k reg renault clio and have 3 car seats in it!

as my daughter is 5 months, i need one from birth. she is quite long and outgrowing the carry seat in length.
saw them ones, quite cheerful.
looking for car seats is so depressing!!!

I personally would not buy a second hand car seat, particularly for childminding use. If it has been involved in a previous accident then it might not hold out in another accident then where would we be :panic:

Ebay have great deals on brand new seats and Halfords had buy one get one free I thnk it was recently. Also www.kiddicare.com are very good.

just spent last hour trying to find out whether my car has isofix fittings and if not, can they be fitted....:angry: vauxhall are useless!!!!

I would never use second hand car seats. It's just not worth it. I could never forgive myself if anything happened and a second hand car seat was the reason. :)

Thanks for the help guys, managed to find the car seat i wanted but couldn't afford on ebay...brand new for nearly half the price. just goes to show how much places like argos make on them.

I purchased my seats from www.kiddicare.com, they often have deals on and have always arrived ultra quick.

i tried there and nearly bought it from there but was £99 on there, managed to get it for £69 on ebay. was so impressed. kiddiecare is highly rec by everyone.
