Hi

Stuck on this last questions from Element CCLD 308.3 :panic:

Question is:

How do you supervise children according to legislation and accepted policy and practice in your own setting?

Thanks x

supervise children:

there is constant, close and general supervision.
you would know the children in your care and assess what level of supervision they need according to age, ability, experience and type of activity.

you do risk assessments, have house rules, clear guidelines and boundaries, you minimise risk where possible ie remove toxic plants, cover the pond, lock away medicines and bleaches for example

you talk to children about safety, health - eg road crossing, internet safety, bullying, personal safety and its ok to say no, respect for themselves and each other etc,

you get them to think about the potential consquences so they learn about personal safety and of others by including them in RA and rule making

you encourage risk taking in a controlled environments - it is not healthy to eliminate all risk
