on mat allowance can i still start pre-registration??

I'm on maternity benefit at the moment but i'm unemployed so not due to go back to work when it ends, can i still go through the pre-registration process. i am booked onto a pre-reg course this month and i'm concerned that im going to get told i cant do anything until my mat benefit runs out. pls help!!!! :panic:

I have done all my pre reg stuff while on mat leave from work, then I have given my notice in to terminate my contract as my mat finishes. Im employed by the council and they knew about it and was fine with it.

I did my pre-reg and registered etc whilst on maternity leave. Think you will be okay providing you don't actually start earning any money from childminding until your maternity allowance ends. :) x

It will take you a few months to register, so it is good that you have MA to tie you over ...

You can start minding (and earning) as soon as you are registered and legal, but you will have to stop the MA.
