I'm getting MARRIED...oh my goodness!

Myself and himself got engaged christmas 2009. We kind of had the attitude of we'll get married "one day". I've been married before and he hasn't so I sort of felt abit guilty about my "one day" attitude!

Well on Sunday he brought up the subject of weddings and we set a date! :eek:

Oh my goodness I'm sooooooooooooo excited. :jump for joy:

I thought once we'd set the date I'd go into panic mode and freak, hide and panic a bit more........ But I love it. I spend every spare moment online looking at dresses, venues, cakes, oh it's soooooooo exciting! :clapping:

Only problem is we set the date for 20th August 2011........it's ages away, how on earth am I going to wait that long!:laughing:

We have been together 7 years hes been married before, but at the moment we are happy as we are, also we will get married abroad so a bit more planning :thumbsup:

Congrats, we've been engaged 6yrs now and still not married. There always seems to be someting else to do. We've said we'll go abroad but it's sorting it all out. Don't think either of us are that bothered. We've made the commitment of having a child

My hubby and I met and married in ten months... as practicing Christians we don't believe in living together unless married.. so we did it chop chop :laughing: We are also 'all or nothing' type people, and wouldn't have settled for anything less.

I had my own design company in SA and was quite involved in the wedding industry so planned it quickly. Friends within the industry did loads - photography, video, cake, music etc. This really cuts your costs... if you have creative friends who can offer their services on the day as their wedding gift to you.

9 incredibly happy years on I can honestly say that each year of being married gets better and better, even though we've been through some huge struggles (like trying to have a child together :( )... these struggles only bring us closer together.

I wish you all the best with your planning... even though it's a while away still! :thumbsup:

I met my DH when I was 19 and he was 18, would have married him then!! He said he wouldn't marry till 26 :eek:

We were together a year, apart for 3 (well as far as other people knew!) and married when he was almost 27 - just made it. He said told you so!!:rolleyes:

Hubby asked me to marry him after a week :blush:
We ran away and got married on a beach in the Bahamas. 10 years later and I still get butterflies waiting for him to come home from work! He's my best friend.
