Help!!

I'm not the greatest when it comes to making fancy dress outfits!

Does anybody have any ideas of a simple outfit i can make that my 8 yr old daughter can wear to school for world book day?

My daughter has been as Felicity Wishes with a pink fairy dressing up outfit and stripy tights. Or if she wants to be cool she could go in her own clothes and go as Tracey Beaker. :)

Yellow leggings, yellow jumper, freckles, red hair ribbons

Little Miss Sunshine.

(my dd did this a couple of years ago)

those are good ideas, although now she seems adamant she wants to be a mermaid. i have had absoloute hell from her this afternoon because she thinks she can go into school wearing a decorated bra top and im having none of it.

Put the Bra top over a long sleeved top. That keeps both of you happy.:)

Last year DS went as a fox with this costume:

and a gingerbread man (http://www.babysigningstore.co.uk/finger-puppet-gingerbread-p-135.html). He kept tripping on his tale.

This year their theme is animated characters, easy peasy as he has a Ben 10 costume and DD has a Snow White dress.

imo world book day dressing up should be a story character - not something like ben 10 or whatever - yes there are books on the back of the cartoon i know.
I know that anything which encourages a child to pick up a book is great , whether its an annual or a novel doesnt matter , so not sure why i feel so strongly about it. but ds's had to choose a book , then choose a character from the book. Mermaid is fine btw! love hans christian andersen!
( has stepped away from the soapbox!)

I would normally agree with you but as DS school has a theme of 'animated character' then that is what he will go as!

Last year he was a skeleton from Funny Bones.

I can't recommend buying from any of these site as I have no personal experience of them but they may give you some inspiration?!
