Just had the most scariest night of my life. Had my 3 year old grandson here after nursery. Came in and said he was tired and hungry. I went into the kitchen to get him something to eat and my daughter screamed. When I went in he had turned blue, was stiff and eyes wide open and staring. He was non-responsive and I didn't even know if he was breathing. It was the worst sight I have ever seen and I actually thought he was dead. Went into a right panic, phoned 999 and was talked through a few things to check and how to position him, so much for the first aid training I just didn't know what to do. Before ambulance got here he started to vomit, still not responsive and started fitting, not nice but at least I knew he was alive. This all sounds really silly typing it. Ambulance crew came and took him off to hospital, he started to say a few things in ambulance but not much. He didn't properly come round for some time after arriving at hospital and didn't have a clue where he was or what had happened.

Anyway he's still in hospital being observed and they think it may have been caused by tonsilitis, although he does get it often, we didn't know he had it now as he doesn't often complain about it. Hopefully he'll be much better when I go back in the morning.

Sorry for going on, just had to get it out as I've cried all the way home from hospital just thinking I thought he was dead.

that must have been terrifying for all of you. i hope the lo is making a recovery poor bairn.

it sounds like you done all the right things, even if you think you didn't - you assessed the situation and got help immediately:clapping: well done you and don't do yourself down, some people would have froze or run round to the neighbours wasting valuable minutes.

It is scary. I dealt with something similar at playgroup on Thursday but baby wasn't related so didn't panic. Don't know what i'd do if it was Rose

Thanks everyone. Didn't manage to sleep as everytime I shut my eyes I could just see 'the face'. so got back up at 1.30. There was a bit of a problem at 3am with his temperature but just had a pic of him sitting up in bed eating toast. :clapping: :clapping: Off back to the hospital now
