I bought one today (only £25 a month contract am well impressed!) but anyway, got everything sorted out except texting. I can recieve texts but cannot send them out and am at a loss as to why?

Anyone got any ideas? I can't get to the shop till tomorrow afternoon or possibly even Tuesday morning :(

Bought my dd one for Xmas.

Try this:

Go to the "messages" icon on your menu (it looks like a letter), select it. Press the menu button again (the one with the BB logo to the left of your trackball), scroll down to "Compose SMS text," select it, choose whom you'd like to send the text to, and start typing. By pressing the trackball one last time it will pull up the send feature. Select that and there you have it.

hth :D

I have one & love it!!

You need to send them as a sms not a mms if thats any use?

Otherwise - what are you doing step by step so I can see if its anything different :)

When I click send the wee aerial I suppose icon goes up for a few seconds then the message gets a red x on it which I assume means not sent. Click resend and still nothing.

SO annoying!!

Got it sorted but posting in case anyone else gets one and has the same, I took battery out and put back in and it was fine then :) really loving having instant access to emails, very handy for work purposes I hope, can get back to enquiries far sooner.

I have a 8800 and it is absolutely fantastic! You do need to occasionally power them down and turn back on as it helps with updates etc. If you get SOS signs a lot in the aerial icon do the same and usually fixes for me. Blackberry App world is cool - have got some good things in there!
