Healthy eating award

We applied for a 'Golden Apple healthy eating award' via our council, Cheshire East.

We have had a visit today from the Environmental Health Officer and she checked all the paperwork - including my HACCP file.

She inspected the menus etc and watched Nige making a loaf of bread for tea time as the chicken bubbled away in the slow cooker.

She then told us we have got the award! :clapping:

We are the first childminders in town to get the award and we will get a 'boasting' page on Cheshire's website!

We are all very proud :D

Well done to you both - I rang about 2 food awards earlier in the year when I wasn't busy thought it would be a good opportunity when I could invest time in it and 2 people were to get back to me and neither did, the I got busy and and never got round to it.

Bet you are both very proud, what do you have to do now? Do they get back to you to check you are keeping up the good work or do you need to renew it after a period of time - or is it yours forever????

Oh that is brill - means that for once we only have to do all the hard work once and we can keep the reward. One of the awards I rang about had been replaced by another - I suppose that is their way of getting people to do more and more. :) :)
