Are you sure it's not a fuse or the bulbs gone in it? When we brought our Citreon, the dash was only part working, after lots of research on line, DH took the risk and checked the fuses and then bulbs, turned out it was just a bulb that cost a couple of quid!

it drives fine, lights working, electric windows working just no dashboard display.

asked at the garage (renault) and he says it could be a fuse too or a loose wire so fingers crossed it's something simple

not going to worry about it until after my holiday

My grand scenic needs repairing, the heater works on no2 takes me half an hour to de-mist the windows before I can drive it, renault wanted £90 to look at it and could be upto £400 to repair if they think it needs a new wiring loom, I'd rather freeze than pay that kinda money out:angry:

I have the same car and the heater only works upto number 3.

You might find it a blip, ours in our galaxy disappears every now and again, and reappears after varying intervals as the car is running, although ours is the bit where it tells you about doors being open, it is illegal to drive without a working speedometer i think.

Oh no! I had heard about this but was assured it was only a certain year of car that had the known fault. What year is yours?

I saw a programme about this a couple of months ago. They were telling people to contact renault and they would do the repairs. What year is your car ? I have an 04 scenic and mine hasn't gone but knowing my luck it will at some point. I have just spent over £600 on a new hydraulic valve for the gear box.

We have an 03 renault scenic, and this happened to ours a couple of years ago. We paid about £500 to get it repaired.

Then it was on watchdog that its a fault, so we sent our receipts off to Renault and they sent us a cheque for £400 back.
