he says there are 4 golden rules

1)when you are hungry go eat. If you starve yourselfe your body will think there is a food shortage and will get efficient at storing fat (this is true...I know this as I studied biology)

2)Eat what you want. Dont eat something because you think you have to.

3)Eat consciously. (at a quarter of the normal speed)
Chew food longer and slow down the speed at which you eat..put down your knife and fork every so often...put down sandwiches while you are eating...take a break...dont watch tv, read a newspaper etc...
this way you will know when you are full and not miss the point...

4)Once you are full, STOP!

waiting for the next rule....

Do you ever get a chance to eat without a break? "I need a wee, I need a drink, I want sauce etc etc etc"

As for eating when hungry, yep this is my rule but there is a flaw, I'm always hungry!;)

Once before when I was trying to lose weight I followed his theories. I have to say I did eat a lot less ( especially when I tried the eating slowly bit ).

But I found it hard to stay in the right frame of mind.
Who has time to ' eat slowly and put down your knife and fork/sandwich etc between bites '.

I have followed his theory on and off for over 3 years since the series was first on.
It does work for me when i follow it properly. That is until i get fed up with other thing's and then i stuff my face and end up back at square one. But that is my own fault. lol

I can eat slow, I like my food to be piping hot so shovel it down.

A couple of years ago we went to a resteraunt for christmas dinner, there was 5 of us and id finished my food whilst the others were still putting veg and potatoes on there plate

I really cant do slow, people watch me and say i dont chew but im sure i must, well i at least think i do
