I guess my first childminding purchase has to be a laminator. What do I need to look for in a laminator? Where did you buy yours and how much did you pay?

Thanks,
Chell

I got mine from Rymans years ago. I used to work in a school and when I left I somehow managed to bring big 2 boxes of laminating pouches home with all my stuff  ! I have nearly used them all now - does not really help you though - sorry!

I have pouches but no laminator. In the past I've needed a laminator when I've been exhibiting for my website but DH has borrowed one from his work. I think I need to buy my own if I am registering as a childminder, you lot tell me it is essential.

I'm on Sparkle Box now looking for things to laminate. :p

I go through laminators like baby wipes! I get frustrated with them when they start chewing up the pouches and end up getting another...maybe i need to go to tescos for the cheap option!

I've never used a laminator....but think would def make my setting look a bit neater...I've to plastic pockets all over the place!

not wanting to sound really thick but are they difficult to use? (honestly, I've never used one...or come to think of it...actually seen on!)

sorry jump on and sorry if I sound a bit silly!

I was lucky and aquired my laminator and binding machine from work when they made us all redundant and closed the site.

They were cheapie Staples ones but have been working for years and years. I also use the cheapie pouches.

I could do with my binding machine . . . I use it for our holiday scrapbooks, learning journals, attendance register, daily risk assessment, fire record, etc.

Lovies

ASDA for me too, I read the instructions and only occasionally have had to pull out something that has stuck - keeps working though, and boy has it done some work!

I have laminated bus/train/tube tickets in credit card size pouches (bit thicker too) for playing with

Pouches from anywhere cheap or on offer.

I got my laminater from Tesco (value one) 3 yrs ago and its still going strong. I get the value pouches from Tesco too and the credit card size ones (used for DD's spellings to make flashcards for playing snap, memory game) from Makro.

I use the binder at the office, don't use it enough to justify buying one.
