Read 'Cat in the Hat', then do some activities -

http://www.seussville.com/
Have fun with red and white...
Personal social & emotional development - bring something red and white to wear from home to share with friends in the group
Communication, language & literacy - make up a red and white poem or song
Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy - make some red and white paper patterns. Little ones can tear paper / older children might like to cut and make themselves a jigsaw
Knowledge & Understanding of the world - talk about the weather in the books... it is raining in 'Cat in the hat' and snowing in 'Cat in the hat comes back'
Physical Development - balance like the cat, outside on balancing beams or inside on mats
Creative development - make a hat like the one the cat wears with instructions from here - http://www.hubbardscupboard.org/dr__seuss.html (scroll down!)
Have fun! :D
