Just wondered if there is a particular amount of time and thought a poll might give some idea!

I think if all your paperwork is in order and you have completed your sef then 2 to 3 hours seems to be about the norm.
Mine was with me for 2.5 hours. She spent approx. 1 hour looking at my paperwork, children's files, daily diaries etc, 1/2 hour talking and interacting with the children and an hour talking to me whilst I continued with our daily routine and planned activities.

Mine was about 4.5hrs. That was with a fully completed SEF & all paperwork in order.

I don't think you can tell as it varies from inspector to inspector and area to area

I had completed my SEF (10 hours) and still had a 5.5 hour inspection and I had to ask her to leave as I had a school run to do. I did put out everything I had and she said on arrival "seeing you have done so much the least I can do is look at it"

Lottery I am afraid.

Mine was 3 hours, hadn't done any of my sef and I got a good!

Was totally surprised how quick it went and how relaxed it was.

Mine got here at 10am and at 2pm phoned her next inspection to let them know she would not be coming. She finally left my house at 3.30pm. My SEF was complete as was all my paperwork and I only have one mindee - and she never went outside or upstairs. In fact she seemed to spend the majority of her time reading my folders and coming to find me and ask about things that were labelled and in front of her!

My last was about 4hrs but I must admit it flew by. I think the inspector was hoping to leave sooner but I insisted on showing her everything so in the end I think she gave me my grade just so she could get out the door

Arrived today at 9.40am and left at 3.10pm. Brain frazzled so can't do the maths but fitted in with the school run nicely.

Had fully completed SEF and sat her at filing cabinet so she could help herself to paperwork. She asked questions as she went along.

She was very nice and I didn't feel her watching my every move unlike my last inspection. I think the SEF makes a big difference as they look for evidence of what you've said and don't put you on the spot with difficult questions when you're under pressure.

My best bit of advice - do your SEF and make sure it's an accurate relection of what you actually do! Not what you think they want to read as she did ask me some bits of it and then she said "Oh, yes I read that on your SEF!"
