if you were almost full but had 2 half days (am or pm) available and your full day rate was say £30...would you charge a full day rate for each half day or would you charge say £15 for 1 half day and £15 for the other bearing in mind the mindee is under 8?

Just a tad confused you see... x

If I only had the half days available I'd only charge half day fees, if I had the full day available but parents only wanted half day I'd charge full fee as couldn't gaurantee filling the other half day

me too. you can't really charge a full day when you can't offer a whole day's care, if you see what I mean.

If someone only wanted a part day it would depend on the hours as I have session rates. My normal day rate is £38 but I would charge £25 per day as a minimum rate for half days for an example of school hours or 1-6.

I charge by the hour too, so dont come across that problem really - perhaps charge slightly more than your half fee rate so your not loosing out too much, but not putting parents half with being too expensive?

I usually state minimum 4hrs care per week and if less than 20hrs a week then a slightly higher charge applies. I only do an hourly rate as well.
