I had a bit of a problem finding the stress required to get stuff together for my inspection today but it didnt matter, Mrs Ofsted was really nice and said she knew I would be getting better than satisfactory just by reading my SEF (it took about 2 hours and so was well worth it!).
She was here about 2 hours, made some lovely comments that my interaction with the kids was really good and she could see they were enjoying themselves and all my paperwork was good and would help them progress.
I really didnt do anything differently, the kids didnt want to go out to play which I thought she might have a problem with but was fine, I gabbled like a fool for a couple of minutes when she asked what I thought they would get out of the sticky activity we did before I remembered I was supposed to link it to the areas of learning (doh!) but afterwards she said I had a really strong grasp of EYFS, more than she would expect to see as I have only been minding a few months. She said all the work I had put in really showed so I feel I have acheived something :)
She said she would normally expect to give a new childminder satisfactory so I should be really pleased getting good in all areas. Now I want to know how to get outstanding!
