Yet another question but does it matter how big your house is to childmind???I live in a 3 bed semi its not big but not tiny, have front room with double doors to dining room and nice size conservatory on the back, only tiny kitchen though! Just alot of people have said, "you'll be ok if have a room for childminding" and I dont it would be all of the down stairs of my house!
That ok?

sounds like mine , but mines terraced . ofstead love the fact its open plan and the children are in view even wen im in the kitchen. its not the size of the house its how you use it thats important . id love a playroom but its not an option, im just well organised with storage. i use the alchoves in the dining room for toys and put blinds up to hide them when the kids go home

trying to talk DP into getting an extention or conservetory as i would love to shut the door at the end of the night in stead of tidying it all a way .

My house is tiny. You can't swing a cat in the kitchen (we know, we tried  ) and apart from that there's the loung/diner which is narrow if longish. It may affect your numbers slightly but won't affect your ability to childmind.

It's a small world

The size of your house doesn't matter at all. At most it may just reflect on the number of children you can have. Mines not huge and Im allowed 3 under 5yrs and 3 x 5-8yrs ( but think most people have this number regardless of the size of their house. Also I don't stay in all day everyday I go to local parks , local childminding groups and , sing song groups and normal playgroups (about 3-4 mornings a week-children do lots of activities especially at CM groups as they fit into EYFS here like this week we are making Diwali lamps, last week we made bird feeders using pine cones. We've had a lollipop lady visit and have a policeman visiting in Dec) Playgroups are good as if your house is not huge children can run around and allows them to play with toys that you may not have and socialise with other children.

Please don't worry about the size of your house none of us live in mansions and are all just ordinary everyday people.

Hope this helps. I know someone who childminds and lives in a flat. SIZE does not matter. :)

I live in a 2 bed ground floor flat. I do have a large open plan living space though and am registered for 5 under 8s (one of my own is also under 8). Don't worry - you will be fine in a 3 bed semi :D

thank you all so much you have completely put my mind at ease...I knew it would be fine but when I was chatting to people the doubts started! I completely agree its what you do not the size of the space and Im all for going to different groups, I do that now with my little 7 month old and I've been looking into childminding groups in the area already...I like to get out and about!
Your all so helpful...thanks again x
