I've had a call this morning from a parent who wants
care for her daughter who will start full time school next
September.
She only needs cover for the school holidays but I'm not sure until she visits tomorrow if its to start next October or this year.
It seems a long time to keep the place open if its to start next year.

I charge a daily rate of £25 do I still charge this as its only for 13 weeks
a year and if I dont get another mindee who needs term time only I'm then I'm
losing money.

Do I just charge for the weeks used and do I charge a retainer for the other weeks not used.

What do you do?
Thanx xxx

Personally i would take it and just charge for the holidays. This is because i have 3 term time only children and most of the before and aftre school enquiries i get are term time only too so ths would fit in nicely for me.

I would do a holidays contract and no retainer.

You may have another child come up term time and if not go for an overlap.

That's what I do.

I have a few children who come holidays only. Luckily I have ones that are term-time only too so it balances out.

I have a couple of holiday only children. I do ask that they either use all the time I'm available ( in the holidays ) or pay half fees.
Otherwise you could be holding a place and turning away work and they may not use it.

I agree with the advice. I wouldnt' charge retainer for this and it allows you to charge term time only if someone wants the place for term time offering you a unique selling point
