Hi,

had an email enquiry tonight
9 month old
3 or 4 days a week
Starting Feb 2010

If Mum does decide to sign contracts etc do I take a retainer or deposit?

I have a space 3 days a week at the moment (but until I chat to mum don't know if these are the days she wants/ needs), and in Jan will have 5 days a week so space will definitly be there in Jan.

I know that a retainer is if the space is available but the parent chooses not to use it (usuall 1/2 fee) and Deposit is to secure a future space which is not currently available.
But my situation is a bit of both!!!

Thanks
Liz

As a parent its a lot to pay a retainer until Feb 2010. I had a similar one earlier in the year and got a deposit off them, my siutation was the space wasnt available until Sept anyway as my DD started so I couldn't charge for a space that wasn't there. The deposit was a sign of intent as I had lots of other enquiries for the same spot.

Perhaps see what days mum wants and if it fits with you then take a deposit, but you do get a full time space available then so you never know you might get an enquiry for that.
