Hi everyone, i have had an enquiry from a lady with a 7 month old baby, she is starting a course on monday and is desperate to see me tomorrow. The hours she will need me for will be starting from 8.30 four days per week and finishing at 12.30 on 2 of the days and 2.30 on the other 2 days.

I am not too sure how to charge for this as it is taking up a place, would i be best to stick to my hourly fee or charge a daily rate. The childcare will be paid through her training company so would i just have to send them a weekly a invoice.

With different end times I would do an hourly rate otherwise you will find yourself working 2.30 when Mum has finished at 12.30. Is it only for two weeks you could do a total payable fee? weekly?

I would charge an hourly rate but charge a higher rate than normal, I normally charge £4 per hour but for this I would charge £5 per hour

I charge an hourly rate, this way i do not feel that I am doing some hours for free! I adjust my hourly rate though according to how much of a full time space the child takes up and what else I have to do, ie nursery run, food etc

I do session rates and would charge a minimum fee for the day of £25 per day.

I have a parent who comes 9.00 till 2.30. I normally charge £3.50 per hour, but charge her a daily rate of £20 per day as it is impossible to fill the hours she doesn't use.

I spoke with the parent this morning just to confirm the interview tonight and she mentioned that her course was for 2 years and that they would pay her childcare costs up to £160 per week, I think i will just stick to my hourly fees but increase them slightly to cover the time the place isnt used.

thanks everyone.
