I'm not sure how ell known Earth Day is here in England but heck, there's no reason not to spread the green message. Earth Day this year is April 22nd. Here's a link to the official site: http://ww2.earthday.net/~earthday/
I have lots of ideas to do with my minded kids but I'm espcially excited about two of them (which I will be doing on a larger scale for the drop-in group).
One is to use old squash bottles and 2 litre bottles to make terrariums. Here's a link: http://www.instructables.com/id/Seed-Starter_1/
Husband is not so happy about me storing all the empties at the moment, though!:p
And the other idea is t-shirt grocery sacks. I love this idea as I refuse to use plastic carrier bags anymore as it is. See if I can post a picture of one:

You just cut off the sleeves at seam, cut the neck straight across and then sew the bottom together with a good strong stitch. I'm going to use fabric paints and sequins with the kids to decorate their own but if you had a t-shirt with a cool design, you could just leave it as is. Small t-shirts would make great hand bags, too. Great idea for the beach, as well.
