need some advice

I have just taken on a 9 month old he has been with me 1 1/2 weeks but yesterday mum called to say that I would not have for awhile as she has been sent home from Army on compassionate reason (brother on life support in scotland).

Mum has paid for the month already in advance what I was wondering is do I deduct some of next month fees as she is away on compassionate leave but in my policy it state that I need 14 days notice of any leave or just keep next months fees as normal with no reduction. I don't want to seem soft but I do feel for this lass as she is only 19yrs old single mum & in the army.

with it being the army I am sure they are paying her in full whilst she is on compassionate leave. I would offer a reduction if I could afford it. If you can't - then that's a difficult one. I certainly wouldn't be able to refund a whole month to someone.
