Hi there,

I have just had one of my learning diaries audited as part of my local early years initiative.

It has come back with very good feedback but as an area for development I have been asked to:
Explore ways of including the children's reflection on their own learning in the learning diary.

My initial thoughts are:

Take photo's of children when they are looking at their folder, note any comments they make and include this into learning diary - this will obviously be easier with older ones.

Just wondered how others are including children's voices.

Thanks
Carol

I sit with the children and encourage them to talk about their folders and add any comments.

Taking photos is a good idea!

Also when they have done any crafts you could add a photo and comment they made at the time.

Would they like decorating their folder with some stickers or sparkles??

Hth :D

Thanks Sarah,

I pretty much have done that - there are photo's showing what child has made with a speech bubble and what the child said.

Children have decorated their own folders.

Not sure what else to do :panic:
