 One of my twins has spastic dlplegia and is a part time wheelchair user. (Basically is leg muscles are too short and very tight) It hurts him to walk far hence the wheelchair..

Anyhow today at school he had a 'specialist PE teacher' - he is 6.... He sat out after 5 mins running activities and she yelled in his ear that he has to join in for it all next week and not be lazy....

Could cry - he isn't lazy, it does hurt and it's taken so long to make him comfortable with any physical activity.... Poor little thing was upset all afternoon.

Am CROSS.

That is disgusting and I would be saying as much to the head tomorrow morning first thing if I were you.

That teacher needs a verbal warning, personally they should like they are in the wrong profession, perhaps the army would be a better placement.

Now I AM CROSS!!!!!!

Its so frustrating. I have found myself repeating everything that i had to tell last yrs teacher. Felt like i wanted to chat to the new teacher one to one to explain things. Ds has an allergy to sunlight and need suncream on every 2-3 hrs. I asked last week for it to last untill he finishes football club. The answer was mm ill try. They did well his friends support worker did it. I think they realised more as i was asked questions the next day, my ds had pe that day so she must had seen where his skin has reacted.
Sorry not on the same level but i understand like i said ds has a friend in class who has a support worker as she is albino. Her Mum has so many problems trying to get the school to understand what is needed.

That is shocking! I would definitely be at the school and find out exactly what happened and then take it from there!

I really do hope your son is OK - why do people think they have the right to do this - teachers or not!!!!!!

R U OK, silly question. What have you decided to do. I would be devestated if that happened to one of my children, it is terrible and my heart goes out to you and your son. I hope that teacher feels good about herself for doing that .....not!!!!

Absolutly Awful!

I know its in no way the same league but i started my period when i was very young. When i told a new teacher i couldnt go swimming he went ape:censored: at me started shouting in my face telling me how i would one day drown etc. I was two shy to tell him i was on my period. It really upset me. I wish people would think before jumping to conclusions

I would report it to the head and ask for action, the teacher shouldn't be yelling in anyones ear, whether they thought they were lazy or not!, and especially with children they do not know! :panic:

I would put a complaint in writing and hand it to the head first thing tomorrow. I would also demand that he be removed from her class. I would also ask for a copy of their inclusion policy.

But i would also go in and see the PE teacher and tell her face to face what i thought of her. It would go along the lines of ..Dont you ever dare speak to my son in that aggressive patronising manner again or i will personally make sure your teaching career is well and truly over:angry: :censored:

Nasty peice of work, let us know what you decide to do.

It does not matter if the teacher knew or not, you do not speak to children like that , end of.

Always err on the side of caution :panic:

Gosh, this has brought a tear to my eye, how can they do that to a child. It's disgraceful especially as it has upset him all afternoon. I would be in to see the Head as well, like others have mentioned. They should be supporting him, not threatening him that he'll have to do it next week.

I went to see my sons Head at his old school when a teacher told him to shut up, and said she wasn't interested. I was not happy like you. The Head supported his staff but did inform me that the person in question was leaving at the end of the week. To which I told him 'good'.

Hope you get it sorted and sending big hugs to both of you.

I went in this afternoon and his teacher knew what I was going to say before I said it. She took responsibility and hadn't made the external teacher aware (although it is very obvious - for a start he does PE in his support boots!) and has made it apparent to the teacher that he can sit out as and when he chooses. She was very pleasent and I feel lots better. He does too. Thankyou so much for all the support xx

I'm glad you and your son are feeling better:thumbsup:

I can't help feeling there should be some sort of retribution for the other teacher though !
