Hi the school that I do the school run has an inset day after the end of every holiday. I charge normal fees for this day for the school run children as I am still available for work. I have a mum who questions this all the time, I look after her boy term time only. Our school is closed for local elections, inset days and other days throughout the year. What does everyone else do?

If the child comes to me I would charge for the extra hours - however if the parents didnt send them to me it would be normal rate as it is still in term time:)

Hi,

If the inset day is attached to a holiday I treat it like one of the holiday days.

Like Julia if it is at the end or beginning of the holidays I treat it as a holiday day, so charge the parent half fee as they pay half fee for all holidays to keep the place open.
