Hi
Two of my Early Years children, will still be coming to me after school, once they begin for the September start.

Both are the youngest end of the school year, birthdays being May and July, and so are only just 4.

Up until now of course, both have had detailed daily reports every time they attended.

My question is;- As of September, they will be classed as Rising-5's in the eyes of Ofsted. As they will be in full time school, obviously I will not need to complete a Daily Report any longer for them, but, as they will be still only just age 4 officially, will they still need 'signing out' by parents each evening - until they reach 5 years old??

Would appreciate advice. Thanks.

All my children have attendance registers signed by parents - even the 13 year old :D

My parents do not sign their child in and out each day, they sign my attendance register weekly or so though.

I think it is best to have all children on the register as proof of when they are with you and not.

I have all children signed in/out no matter what age and when I did registers then I did one for all children. I think it is important as it is still protecting you in cases of CP matters no matter what age the child is.

Any child I mind regardless of age has a page in my register and the parents sign at the end of the week.

Its a Safeguarding procedure for you and the child in your care, recording when they are with you and when they are not.
