I just charge my usual hourly rate. I don't have a set fee for after schoolers. However I also care for children for a minimum of 6 hours a week.

Hi Marie U,

I'm interested in the replies you get to this too, as I've just had to turn down 2 parents who wanted, respectively, 1 monday after school (3 - 5.30) and a pick up on friday (3 - 4) but only every other week, and the other just wanted every friday (3 - 5.30). they were both under 8. It was basically £60 over 4 weeks (combined), but taking up places (potentially) worth £360 plus per month.... v. annoying.

Hope you get some more examples of how people charge for this kind of arrangement soon,
best wishes,
wendy :-)

i have an after school rate of £14. This applies wheter the child is with me for 1 hour or 3. My usual rate is £3.50. I supply drinks and snacks but not tea.

sorry but it depends where you live hun,

i charge £3 hr so from 3pm till 6pm is £9 +£1 Meal

but if a child goes home early it felt a bit too much so i changed to..

£10 first after school pick up and care
£5 a session there after = £30 week (ie x5 nights)

ask your local DO for local costs and fit in with your area x
