was thinking on doing a bit about wedding as it's my wedding anniversary on the 3rd but i have a 8months old, a 1yr old a 3 1/2yrs old. my 5yrs old is only here for 1h after school so I think we're just going to learn to discover each other, learn new routine and play it safe with conkers and all!

 but i like the wedding idea..!!

National Grandparents day is on october 4th, so i will plan my activities around this for the last week in sept

here are 2 fab poems to use

Grandma's
Everything my grandma does
Is something special made with love
She takes time to add the extra touch
That says “I love you very much”

She fixes hurts with a kiss and a smile
And tells good stories grandma-style
It’s warm and cosy on her lap
For secret telling or a nap

And when I say my prayers at night
I ask God to bless and hold her tight.
Cause when it comes to giving hugs
My grandma’s arms are filled with love

GRANDA's

I like to walk with Grandpa
His steps are short like mine
He doesn’t say “now hurry up”
He always takes his time.
I like to walk with grandpa,
His eyes see things like mine do-
Pebbles bright, a funny cloud, half hidden drops of dew.
Most people have to hurry
They don’t stop and see
I’m glad that god made grandpa
Unrushed and young like me!

Mine is very similar.

I will focus on changes in the world around us - the colours and shapes of autumn.

We have neglected our numeracy a bit this summer in favour of a focus on communication skills and feelings ... so we will use natural elements in the world around us such as conkers and leaves to count, examine for size and shape etc.

I love Autumn, it's my favourite time because there's so much to see outside :D

I am doing all about me! :D Well not me but the children. September is a new routine, some have new school etc. So we are doing about ourselves.

Bonus being that one of my families went to slovakia (mum's family lives there) and made me a folder about slovakia, there family there, some facts and translated some words. So i will have that to work from. I only have one child every afternoon and one monday afternoons.

After that i must admit I LOVE AUTUMN! :clapping: My favourite time of year! Conkers, leaves turnining colour, my birthday! .... Halloween, bonfire night! PINK concert!

I LOVE AUTUMN!

Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur could be combined. It is seen as the end of one year and the beginning of a new Year. I am Jewish, and when my children (6 and 9) go to Synagogue on Rosh Hashanah they always have a Birthday cake and sing happy birthday to the world as it is seen as the worlds birthday as well as the start of a new year.

Yom Kippur is seen as a time to reflect on how you treat other people and what you would like to change about yourself. So with the children you could do about being kind and sharing and things like that.

As my mindees are only 9 months and 12.5 months I shan't really be doing any of the above!!! Think it might be a bit beyond them :) :) I think we will just do playing and learning to walk

I am right in thinking I dont have to do "planning" for such little ones arent I ??

we like to look for squirals and talk about why they are soooo busy at the moment

which other animals hibernate etc, but i only look after a 13month old at the moment, so its hard to plan for all of it,

still we can still go on autumn walks and watch the colours change, and look for the squirals.

could also go blackberry picking. or are we not allowed to do that???

i love the play dough idea thats brill!! im gonna make that tonight
and the grandparents day!! what fun

cheers everyone for the great ideas :clapping:
