My almost 5 year old mindee finally got the message today about the difference between using a whiney voice to ask for things and using a normal voice. I've been using the "show me a smile and then ask me again nicely" approach every time he whined about something and today he did it! He asked really nicely without a hint of a whine for a toy to be brought out and when I commented on how beautifully he'd asked he just said "you always say where's my smile, so I remembered to bring it today"!!
What a little sweetie!!
