I hope it's just baby brain otherwise I am going completely dim!

I am trying to work out my claims for elec and gas per month and I'm getting nowhere, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, last year I was fine though!

Right,

For instance:

April 08 I paid £25 Elec.

Hours worked per week were

w/c
7 April 6 hours 0%
14 April 11 hours 9%
28 April 10.5 hours 8%

Now I get stuck! How do I work out claim for the month?

Is it 0 + 9 + 8 = 17%

17% / 3 weeks = 5.66%

5.66% x £25 Elec = £1.42???

OMG! What's wrong with me? Am I the biggest dimwit there is or what!

I desperately need some help or I'm going to go mad!

Thank you!

Hi Spangles,
That does sound suspiciously like the symptoms of baby brain, lol.
Sorry, don't think I can help much I'm afraid - I think that sounds confusing, but i'm easily confused, lol.
I think with varying hours like that, I'd work out each week individually and then add the £ and pence together to get the April total....
bws,
wendy :-)

I average things out. When you look at the figures you are worrying about they are really pence aren't they?

So if you've worked hours of 6 + 11 + 10.5 = 27.5 over 3 weeks divide by 3 = 9 hours a week...

Then do the percentage for that :D

I wouldn't put 0 for the 6 hour week, you should get something for it. Like Sarah say, don't worry to much about odd pence. :)

Thank you! I think I'll have a break and try and look at it again tomorrow.

I'm doing my own head in! Ha ha!

It does seem waaaaay too complicated how I'm planning to do it!
