Will try and keep it short.
I taken on two sisters who are 2 and 3. They are both contracted down for 20 hours per week with the times 12-10pm as i have them after 6pm i charge double. The total for the two for the two days with those hours comes to £168 per week.
well mom hasn't started work this week but wanted to leave them with me for two days to settle them in which was monday 10am-6pm and thurs 7am-6pm there total for this week would mean it would come up to £120.00 for this week. To have these two children i have 2 have an assistant whilst they attend so i have to pay her.do you you think i should charge her the £120 or the £168.00 as it is their first week as settling in.I think it should be £168 but my patner thinks im being too harsh seen as it its their settling in week
What do you think?

I think for the 2 days they are coming & being collected at 6pm I would charge the £120 as they are not there during unsocial hrs iyswim, as for 10pm collections then I would charge the £168

I dont think its harsh if you charge double after 6pm thats wot she signed but then its double AFTER 6pm and not before so I think its unfair to charge double for normal hrs iyswim.

but its ur business and if she is willing to pay...

What did you agree at signing of the contracts on the settling in period? I use NCMA contracts and on the grey section on the front you put in the amount. If it states £168 then that is what it is.

I would only charge the hours that are worked for the first wk then charge as planned for the contracted booked in hours from then on.

I agree with Debbie. I would charge what is on your contract.

I would charge £120 if you are not working the later hours. I only charge for hours I work.

I offer free settling in sessions but they are on MY TERMS and MY HOURS. i.e. I would never work a full day for free :panic:

I say "what about you drop him off on Monday from 10-12noon" etc :D

Personally if it's settling in then she shouldn't have sent them for such long hours, not exactly a gradual process which is what settling in is designed for!

I would charge full fee
