school holiday fees

I don't need to know what you charge but I would like to know if
you charge more - less- or the same for a full day holiday child as you would for a full time all year round mindee (pre-school)

not if they come term-time. keep the rate the same. Also bear in mind older children can eat you out of house and home, need to buy in extra food!

I charge the same all year.i have some that come just in the holidays and some all year, they all pay the same. Might start charging extra for food though, they do eat loads!!

oh yes - the plague of locusts that swarm through the house. Don't think many parents could actually afford the fees if we were to charge for what the kids eat let alone for our time childminding them lol:laughing:

I would normally charge full however I really needed the income this holiday and I don't have any before/after schools so I drastically reduced it for two siblings that have come so that I don't have to go out to work instead. It worked for me and their parents and she has offered to pay for additional outings.

Hi Paula,

I've been thinking about this too. My two other children don't start until September and I've thought about offering a special rate for ad hoc care during the summer holidays. I've got a parent coming round later today enquirying about holiday care for her 3 year old. I'll see what see says before I reduce my fees. :laughing:

I charge the same regardless of age. Only additional charges are when we go to soft play, outings and the prices are higher due to their ages. Food remains the same and if it costs more I absorb it.
