Evening all, does everyone here get there gas checked eg cooker and gas fire? If so how often? I am hoping someone is coming round this weekend to do it.

We have an annual gas safety check. They service the gas fires and check the cooker & boiler.

I am with the CSSIW and we have to have ours done yearly .
My friend just had her inspection last week but hadn't had it checked her inspector gave her until the 26th June to get it done,

cost her £100.00 to have her boiler, fire and cooker checked

Ouch! I know it is a requirement for us. I live too far out in the sticks so don't have the luxury of gas:rolleyes:

No I don't get mine checked.
I have a Fireangel carbon monoxide detector and ofsted never asked to see any info on my gas. Though she liked to see ihad a CM detector.I suppose as long as you are showing that you can detect a gas leak, some how, and protect the children, it is enough.

Yes I have a gas check every year. They rang this morning to make the appointment for the annual check and boiler service. Did it when my two were babies cause we had a Combi boiler so if it broke down then we lost heat and hot water.

I continued when i started minding for the same reasons and still do now, only diference is that i claim the whole cost on my expenses because I wouldn't do it for the family now.

They have always responded quicly when I explain I have babies in the house.!!

I have an annual boiler service but that is it. They check the gas from the main supplier into the building within that.
