I just found this blog post through Twitter, I thought it might be useful to pass on to you all.

Help your childs communication by blowing bubbles (http://totsy.typepad.com/totsys_place/2009/05/help-your-childs-communicationby-blowing-bubbles-.html)

It includes tips for making your own bubble solution.

very interesting - thanks!

it's such a great activity on its own but it's great to have some research to back it up!

I hadn't seen this post but we made bubbles in a bucket today ( I think I must be more creative than I give myself credit for !) and used a bat with loads of holes to make the bubbles. It worked fantastically but I will try with food colouring and adding glycerine next time

Can recommend - we made some as a result from this thread. :clapping: The kids (and me:blush: ) loved it, of course I just had to run around the garden waving a bat to show the kids how to do it. lol MEGA bubbles

I would say that you need more than the amounts quoted though.

The kids ended up sitting in the bubbles and washing their hair in it:D

I can't get anything on the link? It just goes to a blank page. Using different sized funnels also make good bubbles. They are bouncy as you blow them and sometimes shrink back if you stop blowing.
