Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how long it will take for the ncma start up pack to come through. I received funding through kirklees and this funding included ncma insurance and a start up pack. I sent the application off over two weeks ago and hadn't heard anything so i rung them this morning and my details still were not in the system they said they had quite alot to get through.

Mine took about 3 weeks and I had to keep chasing them because I had mindee's lined up to start.

I was told on my ICP course that they can take 4 weeks or more.
Apparently they have a backlog, this is what they told me in December, so it is taking longer than 4 weeks.

I suppose they must still be backlogged:(

I sent my application off last week, but I doubt I will receive it just yet.

Hope yours hurries up X

I sent mine off 2 weeks ago and was advised approx 3 weeks. I had mindee lined up to so, and advised them of this so they got me the ins cover note sent out straight away.

Hi Amanda,
I was going to post the very same question! I too sent off forms almost 3 weeks ago and have not heard anything. I am due to start minding in 2 weeks so I was getting a touch worried.
Anyway I have just phoned NCMA & apparently I am "on the system" :jump for joy: and have been insured since 6 Feb :clapping: so I am all set to go woo-hoo:laughing: She said I should get the pack in about another week. So all in all it will have taken 4 weeks.

Just got to get the last 2 weeks of my notice worked

I got mine free via a Sure Start thingy-mo-bob. I filled in the forms with Surestart and posted my form to NCMA the same day.

I assumed it would take ages as 'no money was changing hands' iyswim, however 3 days later my pack arrived!!

Mine took a couple of weeks, but it arrived without the Handbook - only the insurance certificate. I contacted them and after waiting 2 - 3 further weeks tried to phone again (held on to the phone for 40 minutes and then gave up and emailed them) and finally another 10 days after that my replacement Handbook turned up.

They are not very speedy, so I assume they must be rather short-staffed!

Still waiting for mine and I've been registered since Feb 08.
