Hi! Can anyone elaborate on what the correct complaints procedure is at the moment. I have been asked by a minder and have answered that you deal with it yourself and have to give the complaintiff an answer with 28 days.

Is this right? do you have to inform Ofsted? what if it is a baddie??

Hi Megan

There are different procedures depending on which Childcare Register the complaints come into.

On my free downloads there is the Ofsted Complaints booklet and also a form written by Sarah.

http://childmindinghelp.co.uk/freeresources/freedownloads.html

There is also the official Ofsted complaints form in a post on here somewhere, which I am going to add to the downloads this weekend.

I will see if I can find it. :)

Record complaint.
Write and acknowledge complaint within 7 days
Take advice if needed from NCMA, MM or Local Early Years team.
Investigate and notify of findings 28 days if Early Years or 20 days if Childcare Register.

Yes this is the latest as it includes details of which part of the register the complaint relates to.
