In may our topic is emergency services. Im trying to be organised and throw a few ideas together. Has anyone ever had firemen or policemen to your house to tlk to the kids. I know they go to nursery's but not sure about childminders. I quite fancy havin firemen in my house if my partners workin that day ;) but anyway... im stuck for ideas so if any 1 has any wud be greatly apprecitated. Thanks x

the fire service will come out test your alarms and do a fire drill with you its free, my mindees were allowed in the fire engine too and wore the hats.

the police .. I've sort of done as a friend of mine is a police officer so he came round in his car sounded the siren and let all the mindess try on his hat but it was an unoffical visit.

Wendywu and I went to a fire station last week ( with mindees ) the visit was organised by our Childrens centre.
Fairly sure wendywu sneaked a fireman out with her

I did emergency services last week, I put in a request for the fire brigade to visit out centre when we meet up but still not come back to me.

Had more luck with the police see below

We talked about what they do
Got some books from libarary
Coloured some pictures
Found some songs
pretended to treat dolly who had broken her leg and took her to hospital in ambulance.
Printed off some police id cards and stuck their pictures on them
I think theres a police/ambulance role play pack on sparklebox

Hope thats some help:)
